An e-Petition is a petition which collects signatures online. This allows petitions and supporting information to be made available to a potentially much wider audience than a traditional paper-based petition.
Please be advised that petition signatures must be from Barnet residents, otherwise they will not count towards the overall signature total.
Names of individuals signing a petition are published on the Council’s website. Individuals can ask at the time of their contact with the council, for their name to be anonymised by contacting email@example.com. Addresses are used to establish whether signatories live within the London Borough of Barnet.
Petition signatures will remain on the council’s website up to 6 months after a formal decision on the petition has been made. For further information on how your data will be processed please see Governance service privacy notice | Barnet Council
E-Petitions are part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to listening to and acting on the views of the public. Before submitting a petition, please refer to petition section in the Council's Constitution, Article 3. Document 04 Article 3 - Residents and Public Participation (moderngov.co.uk)
