Finchley and Golders Green Residents' Forum - Issues List with responses

Minutes:

 

1.    STATUS OF CONSULTATION ON VICTORIA PARK REDEVELOPMENT

SUBMITTED BY TAL POTISHMAN

The Forum received an oral representation from Mr Potishman’s neighbour in respect to the issue.

Following the consideration on the issue and the response provided by the Council, the Chairman noted the item.

 

2.    BIRD, RAT AND VERMIN NUISANCE, OWING TO CONTINUOUS BIRD FEEDING AND FOOD THROWN IN THE OPEN

SUBMITTED BY TAL POTISHMAN

 

The Forum received an oral representation from Mr Potishman’s neighbour in respect to the issue.

The Chairman the resident’s request and instructed officers to consider replacing the open top bins with a more appropriate type and further requested that officers monitor the bins with a view to empty them more regularly.  

 

3.    REFUSE COLLECTIONS

The Forum received an oral representation from Councillor Mittra who spoke in his capacity as a ward councillor in respect to the issue.

The Chairman notes this matter and requested officers to update the resident whether the issue has been resolved within 20 working days. 

 

 

 

 

4.    ABBOTS GARDENS, N2, ROADS WORKS, TARMACKING

The Forum received an oral representation from Mr Eschwege in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman noted this matter and requested  officers to inspect the road and take any necessary action.

 

5.    BUS ROUTE 263/214

SUBMITTED BY STUART MEAD

 

The Forum received an oral representation from Mr Mead in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman noted the issue and advised the resident to submit this issue to the next Environment Committee where an item on buses will be discussed.

 

 

6.    BUS 13

SUBMITTED BY ANDREW DISMORE

 

The Forum received an oral representation from Councillor Mittra who spoke on behalf of Andrew Dismore as a ward councillor in respect to the issue.

 

Officer’s response was noted. There was a question on the real time passenger information system and the lack of this information on local Barnet bus stops. Councillor Mittra noted this to be a TfL responsibility to provide the equipment on bus stops and undertook to report back to the Chairman on behalf of Andrew Dismore.

 

7.    RAT ISSUE ON OLD FARM ROAD STRAWBERRY VALE

The Forum received an oral representation from Councillor Mittra who spoke on behalf of Andrew Dismore in respect to the issue.

 

It was noted that Barnet and PeaBody Housing Association are working together to resolve this issue.

 

 

 

 

8.    BERESFORD ROAD

The Forum received an oral representation from Councillor Mittra who spoke on behalf of Andrew Dismore in respect to the issue. Residents from Beresford Road raised concerns regarding the footpath works. Summarising their concerns, the Chairman suggested that officers:

1.    Visit the road and inspect the works for quality

2.    Investigate residents’ concerns on how they were notified of the works

3.    Whether the material used was correct within policy in relation to the location of the road and its proximity to the town centre.

 

 

9.    ABBOTS GARDENS

The Forum received an oral representation from Councillor Mittra who spoke on behalf of Andrew Dismore in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman suggested that officers meet with residents on site to look at the road surface.

 

10.VICTORIA PARK-TREES IN PARKS

The Forum received an oral representation from Ms O’Connor in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman noted the issue and requested officers to investigate whether it is possible to

1.    to add a notice to relevant areas when a consultation is going to take place,

2.    clarify whether there will be a parking space planned for Victoria Park and

3.    clarify what defines a tree as being high profile and update the resident within 20 working days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

11.VICTORIA PARK TENNIS COURTS AND FENCES

12.PARKING CONTROLS-BALLARDS LANE/MANORSIDE SCHOOL

The Forum received an oral representation from Ms Musgrove in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman noted the issue and suggested that parking enforcement should be contacted directly using the telephone number available: 020 3375 4242. More information can be found here.

 

13. POTHOLE-FINCHLEY CENTRAL

The Forum received an oral representation from Ms Musgrove in respect to the issue.

 

Following the consideration on the issue and the response provided by the Council, the Chairman noted the item and suggested that the resident may wish to contact her ward Councillors where issues require to be escalated.

 

14. ALLEY/SERVICE ROAD BACK OF 170-192 CRICKLEWOOD BROADWAY, NW2 3EB

The Forum received an oral representation from Ms Bryant in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman had prior to the meeting asked Environmental Health to visit the manager of the properties backing onto the alley way and agreed that officers would provide a response to the resident within 20 working days.

 

 

 

15.LOOSE UTILITY COVER IN THE MIDDLE OF A5, CRICKLEWOOD BROADWAY-REF 110647

The Forum received an oral representation from Ms Bryant in respect to the issue.

 

Prior to the meeting the chairman was notified that the loose utility cover was within the London Borough of Brent and had notified Ms Bryant of this.

 

 

16.ASHLEY FRUIT AND VEG, 180 CRICKLEWOOD BROADWAY, NW2 3EB

The Forum received an oral representation from Ms Bryant in respect to the issue.

 

The Chairman noted this matter and instructed officers to update the resident within 20 working days when will the new street trading strategy come in place and what is the Council’s policy in case there are breaches.

 

 

17. STREET CLEANING IN CRICKLEWOOD

Councillor Thompstone asked officers to contact their equivalent colleagues in Camden about concerns emanating from Hampstead school. The Chairman suggested that the resident, Councillor Jack Cohen and he meet to discuss raising this important matter with the school’s board of governors and OFSTED. 

 

34.PROHIBIT PARKING AROUND ROUNDABOUT ON HORTON AVENUE
