Members' Item - Traffic Calming Measures in the Hendon Constituency PDF 103 KB Minutes: The Sub-Committee heard Councillor John Hart’s representation and noted his concerns regarding road safety within the following roads:
· Devonshire Road and Pursley Road, NW7 · Lawrence Street, NW7 · Wykeham Road, NW4
Ward Member Councillor Sury Khatri spoke in relation to this item and highlighted the dangers of fast moving traffic and the impact that this has had to the road and to pedestrian safety.
Following discussion of the Member Item, the Sub-Committee:
RESOLVED
1. That the Sub-Committee note the Member Item 2. That the Sub-Committee formally instruct the appropriate officer(s):
· To investigate methods of traffic calming within the roads listed above 3. That Sub-Committee Member’s identify dangerous roads within their wards and produce a Member’s Item to a future meeting.

Members' Item - Lawrence Street, Mill Hill Lacks Crossing PDF 109 KB Minutes: The Sub-Committee heard Councillor Geoffrey Johnson’s representation and noted his view of the inadequate crossing opportunities within Lawrence Street. Councillor Geoffrey Johnson described the difficulties this has had to residents.
Following discussion of the Member’s Item, the Sub-Committee:
RESOLVED
1. That the Sub-Committee note the Member’s Item 2. That the Sub-Committee formally instruct the appropriate officer(s):
· To produce a report to a future meeting that outlining the feasibility of a pedestrian crossing at the lower end of Lawrence Street. · That Ward Members be consulted throughout this process. |

Members' Item - Parking within Shirehall Park NW4 PDF 103 KB Minutes: The Sub-Committee heard Councillor Julie Johnson’s representation regarding her consideration of additional road safety measures within Shirehall Road. Councillor Julie Johnson also noted that the road suffers parking difficulties which should be addressed.
Following discussion of the Member’s Item, the Sub-Committee:
RESOLVED
1. That the Sub-Committee note the Member’s Item 2. That the Sub-Committee formally instruct the appropriate officer(s):
· to take the appropriate action within his/her Powers, including conducting a consultation exercise that involves Ward Members.

RESOLVED (1) That the sub-Committee note the contents of the report. (2) Request that Ravenhurst Avenue be added to the list of roads that are consider ‘hot spots’ as outlined within Appendix B of the Officer’s report.
Following the determination of this item the sub-Committee paid tribute to the Street Cleansing & Ancillary Services.

Road Traffic Personal Injury Accident Clusters PDF 113 KB Additional documents: Minutes: Following discussion and consideration of this item the sub-Committee:
RESOLVED (1) To approve the recommendation for each of the four cluster sites as highlighted within Appendix A of the report; (2) To authorise the progression as appropriate pending further design and consultation with Ward Members (3) That the sub-Committee recommend to Officers that during this process, as noted above, consideration be given to de-cluttering of signage within the four cluster sites, where possible. |

Aerodrome Road - Pedestrian and Traffic Improvements PDF 113 KB Additional documents:
Minutes: The Sub-Committee noted the addendum to the report which outlined that funding was not available, contrary to the detail on page 51 of the report.
The Sub-Committee noted their concerns regarding pedestrian and road safety at this junction.
The Sub-Committee:
Resolved:
· To note the details of the proposed improvements detailed within the report.
· To request that the relevant Officer(s) consider pedestrian and road safety measures during the consultation and implementation stages.
· That the interim Director of Environment, Planning and Regeneration be instructed to implement the proposed improvements as outlined in the report subject to:
o Secured funding o Appropriate consultation (as outlined at 1.2 of the report) o Consultation with Ward Members (as outlined at 1.2 of the report) o That any unresolved objections are dealt with by the Interim Director of Environment, Planning and Regeneration under delegated powers in consultation with the Cabinet member for Environment and Chairman of the Hendon Area Environment Sub-Committee. |

Any Other Items that the Chairman Decides are Urgent Minutes: The Chairman noted that he had received information regarding a matter which he wanted to bring to the Sub-Committee’s attention.
The Chairman noted that he had been made aware of the need of a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Bradfield’s Avenue and Hale Lane and requested Member’s views.
The Sub-Committee were supportive of the need for a crossing, but noted officer’s views that a report should be presented to the Sub-Committee in order for Members to consider the impact of a crossing at this location.
Following discussion and consideration of this issue the Sub-Committee:
RESOLVED: 1. That the Sub-Committee formally instruct the appropriate officer with their powers to: o Request that officers work in partnership with Transport for London to investigate the feasibility of installing a pedestrian crossing at this location. o Produce a report to a future meeting that outlines the feasibility of an installation of a pedestrian crossing at this location and its impact.
