We the undersigned petition the council to review traffic on The Groves (Yew, Elm, Ash and Oak Grove NW2)
The Groves run immediately SE of the busy junction of Cricklewood Broadway and Cricklewood Lane. For many years we were assured that the just completed major road works would calm traffic in the area but we have not seen this.
In particular, long queues of traffic form on Oak Grove which often extend as far as Fordwych Road. These vehicles often idle which is a source of local air pollution.
On Elm Grove, 2 way traffic between Yew Grove and Cricklewood Lane causes many accidents and traffic frequently backs up in both directions. There is not enough space for this road to be 2 way, especially given the volume of road traffic.
Yew Grove often sees vehicles use it as a cut through to avoid using the junction.
For all of the above reasons, Barnet need to assess traffic in The Groves and implement measures that would improve local air quality and safer streets for all users.
