A1000 temporary segregated cycle lane
Most of the time the segregated lanes are empty. The 50% reduction in vehicle capacity has caused lengthy traffic jams. We doubt whether any Project Appraisal was done using Dept of Transport Green Book methodology. The benefits to cyclists and bus passengers are hugely outweighed by the time cost to other road users resulting from the jams, plus the extra pollution. The cheme has failed as there is insufficient space for segregated lanes and they are empty most of the time.

Council response
This petition was presented to the Finchley & Golders Green Residents' Forum on 6th January 2021. The Chairman referred the matter to the FGG Area Committee to be presented with a detailed report so that the issues, benefits and measures could be understood.
