08/09/2020 - Mayoralty 2020/21 and Appointments to Committees and Outside Bodies ref: 7521 Recommendations Approved
On 19th May 2020, the Head of Governance, following consultation with the Groups, recorded the decision to extend the mayoralty and appointments to committees and outside bodies from the date of the scheduled Annual Council meeting (19th May 2020) to the date of the rescheduled Annual Council meeting (8th September 2020) in accordance with provisions in theLocal Authorities and Police and Crime Panels (Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime Panel Meetings) England and Wales) Regulations 2020. Due to the illness of the Mayor Designate, the Annual Council meeting on 8th September was postponed. The Administration Group have decided that incumbent Mayor and Deputy Mayor should continue until May 2021. Committee and outside body appointments will be extended until the next scheduled Council meeting on 20 October 2020.
