The Safeguarding Overview and
Scrutiny Committee are responsible for scrutinising the Executive
and Officers in the delivering their statutory responsibilities in
relation to safeguarding and corporate parenting. Safeguarding involves protecting the welfare of
vulnerable adults and children.
The Safeguarding Overview and
Scrutiny Committee also has
responsibility for scrutinising: the provision of education for
children and adults; special educational needs; adult social care;
scrutinising the work of Barnet’s Safeguarding Adults Board
and any relevant sub groups.
