The Health and Social Care Act
2012 established health and well-being boards as forums where key
leaders from the health and care system work together to improve
the health and well-being of local communities. The Health and
Well-being Board plays a key role in the local commissioning of
health care, social care and public health through developing and
overseeing a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) through the
Joint Health & Wellbeing Strategy.
