Members' Item - Request that Vehicle Activated Speed Signs are considered on Woodhouse Road, London N12 pdf icon PDF 318 KB

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee heard Councillor Cooke’s representation on the danger of speeding vehicles on either side of Woodhouse Road, London N12, and a request for vehicle activated speed signs to be considered.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Strategic Director for Growth and Environment instruct officers to undertake a feasibility study looking at potential options to improve road safety in the area, and report back to a future meeting of the Sub-Committee. It was noted that this study will include consultation with local schools.

Members' Item - Request for officers to review the London Cycling Campaign proposed road schemes for Finchley & Golders Green pdf icon PDF 318 KB

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee heard Councillor Kath McGuirk’s representation requesting officers review the London Cycling Campaign proposed road schemes for Finchley and Golders Green, and bring forward proposals to consult local residents on each.

 

Officers provided the Sub-Committee with an informative on individual sites in the Finchley and Golders Green area.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Strategic Director for Growth and Environment instruct officers to undertake an initial feasibility study to include engaging with the LCC, including cost, looking at their proposals in Finchley and Golders Green. It was noted that a report would be brought back to the Area Sub-Committee for the Committee to determine which schemes should be progressed to publicconsultation.

Minutes:

The Chairman invited the Committee to express initial views on the proposals on Area Sub-Committee budgets as presented to the Residents Forum, to be considered by the Community Leadership committee on 25 June.

 

Members noted that they would welcome more clarity around the remit of the proposed Steering Groups, and how engagement will work in practice. The Strategic Director for Communities noted that work is currently under way to consider the detail of how the Steering Groups will work, including timescales and selection process.
