CHAIRMAN’S INTRODUCTION

The Chairman introduced himself and the Officers present and welcomed everyone to the virtual meeting.

  1. Petition: Safe Pedestrian Crossing over Frith Lane opposite Finchley Golf Club

Lead Petitioner: Jennifer Roberts

Ward: Mill Hill

Number of signatures: 136

The Lead Petitioner presented the petition and outlined the problems faced. The new development in the area had caused an increase in population and traffic in the local area. It was becoming a dangerous situation especially for pedestrians with buggies or for those who could not walk very fast. Speeding motorists had been identified along the stretch of Frith Lane. Dr Roberts said that a dropped curb and a pedestrian refuge would improve the problem. The Mill Brook Park and the Mill Hill Residents Associations were in support of the petition.

Officers advised that funding to undertake a feasibility study would allow an analysis of pedestrian count and behaviour as well as to measure the speed of vehicles before a suitable pedestrian crossing could be implemented.

RESOLVED – That the petition be referred to the Executive Director, Environment for consideration for a Feasibility Study.
