Decisions of the Finchley & Golders Green Residents Forum

Virtual Meeting

 

Forum Members Present:
Councillor Jennifer Grocock (Chairman)
Councillor John Marshall (Vice-Chairman)

 

The Chairman of the Finchley & Golders Green Residents Forum, Councillor Jennifer Grocock opened the meeting, introduced the Panel and welcomed all attendees. The Chairman informed speakers about the procedures for the virtual Forum meeting.

 

1.    Petition: Controlled Parking Zone to be introduced on Bridge Lane

Lead Petitioner: Nethanel Belz

 

The lead petitioner presented the petition to the Forum. Officers noted that as part of the three-year programme for CPZ the wider area will be reviewed including Bridge Lane. The consultation process will commence around January and implementation can commence approximately four months after the consultation period.

 

The Chairman agreed to note the verbal update provided by Officers and to recommend that the petitioner contact their local Ward Councillors for updates on the timeline of the CPZ review.

 

 

2.    Petition: Protect and improve Market Place Playground East Finchley N2

Lead Petitioner: Mrs Kathy Batten

 

The Forum received a presentation from the lead petitioner. The Chairman welcomed the comments and Councillor Alison Moore noted the need for improvements to the playground area.

 

The Chairman noted the petition and suggested that following discussion between Officers, lead petitioner and Ward Members a Members’ CIL application be brought to the Finchley & Golders Green Area Committee.

 

 

3.    Issue: Dangerous parking at junction of oak lane and high road

Submitted by: Mrs Meera Pow

 

Mrs Pow presented the issue to the Forum noting the dangers posed to pedestrians as a result of traffic in both directions and traffic speed.

 

Mr Phillip Hoare, Head of Parking & Infrastructure informed the Forum that the results of the speed and traffic surveys will be reviewed to ensure accurate reflection of traffic following easing of lockdown. He also noted that appropriate options and active measures will be considered to address the concerns, including extension of yellow lines.

 

The Chairman noted the response and requested that Officers contact the resident in due course on updates and proposals for measures taken. (Action: Phillip Hoare)

 

 

4.    Issue: Dangers crossing Kingsley Way between the parks from Fletchers Gardens

The Forum noted the presentation of the issue by Mr Ingram.

 

The Chairman noted the response provided and recommended that the resident raise a petition on the matter.

 

 

5.    Issue: Garden waste bins

6.    Issue: Food waste bins
