The Chairman of the Finchley & Golders Green Residents Forum, Councillor Jennifer Grocock opened the meeting, introduced the Panel and welcomed all attendees. The procedural rules for the virtual meeting were read out. The Chairman informed speakers about the procedures for the virtual Forum meeting.

 

 

1.    Petition: To slow down the Traffic on Cricklewood Lane (Child's Hill) in the interest of Public Safety
Lead Petitioner:
Mr Roman Mlynarczyk

 

The Panel noted the presentation from Mr Mlynarczyk.

 

The Chairman agreed to refer the matter to a future F&GG Area Committee meeting to enable Officers to liaise with Ward Councillors, engage with residents and when applicable report to the F&GG Area Committee. 

 

 

 

2.    Petition: Crossing and Traffic Control Measures on Long Lane East Finchley/Finchley

Lead Petitioner: Ms Julianna Porter

 

Ms Porter presented the petition which was noted by the Panel highlighting the importance of considering a safe crossing.

 

Having considered the petition, the Chairman agreed to refer the matter to the F&GG Area Committee to consider funding that can resolve the problems and for Officers to discuss the matter with Ward Councillors.

 

 

3.    Petition: Make Hutton Grove N12 a Safer Street

Lead Petitioner: Sincair Easton

 

Following the presentation from Mr Eaton, the Chairman invited Phillip Hoare, Head of Parking & Infrastructure to address the Forum. Mr Hoare noted that it would be beneficial to take a holistic approach and consider a possible combination of measures to address the issues experienced on Hutton Grove and the similar issues experienced on other roads collectively. He noted that this approach would require funding.

 

The Chairman agreed to refer the matter to a future F&GG Area Committee if this option was deemed appropriate following consultation between Officers and Ward Councillors.

 

 

4.    Petition: Make Lodge Lane safe and bring back a sense of community

Lead Petitioner: Ms Daniela Boyce

 

The Panel noted the presentation delivered by the Lead Petitioner Ms Boyce. In reference to the signage at the bottom of Lodge Lane, Councillor Hutton noted that this may cause confusion among road users.

 

The Chairman agreed to refer the matter to the F&GG Area Committee if this option was deemed appropriate following discussion between Officers and Ward Councillors.

 

 

5.    Petition: Extend East Finchley Controlled Parking Zone to include Chandos Road N2

Lead Petitioner: Mr Rupert Lodge

 

Having noted the petition and presentation from the Lead Petitioner Mr Lodge, the Chairman agreed to request that Officers engage with Ward Councillors on the matter with a view to potentially bringing a report to the F&GG Area Committee.

 

6.    Petition: A1000 temporary segregated cycle lane

Lead Petitioner: Mr Jonathan Hoffman

 

The Lead Petitioner summarised the issues set out in the petition which was noted by the Panel.
