Boiler replacement works are required at five of the borough’s library sites, these being;

Chipping Barnet,

Mill Hill

Edgware

Golders Green

South Friern

This is to ensure that heating and hot water provision are available to the buildings.  The current boiler plants have in two instances failed (Chipping Barnet and Mill Hill) and in the other three Edgware, Golders Green and South Friern are in the later stages of failing, therefore these works are essential to ensure continued use of the libraries.

Quotations for the works have been sought from the Council’s framework providers and request for funding to be allocated was made and granted by the Capital Strategy Board in August 2020 and formally agreed at the Policy ad Resources Committee on the 24^th September 2020.

Decision:

To approve the proposal to replace the boiler and Heating and Ventilation Air Condition (HVAC) plant at five sites: Chipping Barnet, Mill Hill, Edgware, Golders Green South Friern Libraries and allow the Estates team to award the contract for the works to its nominated framework provider Asset Plus Ltd.
