To receive a performance report on the NSL contract including an update on payment mechanism and signs & lines. (Referral from Contract Monitoring OSC 17 March 2014)

The Housing and Environment Lead Commissioner, Declan Hoare; Street Scene Director, Lynn Bishop; and, Infrastructure and Parking Manager, Paul Bragg, introduced the NSL Contract Performance Report.

Committee RESOLVED that:

1.    In relation to NSL contract performance and elasticity of parking demand, the Environment Committee consider the relationship between the price of parking and take-up and use this information to inform parking policy.

2.    In relation to the reported increase in PCNs being issued, the Environment Committee consider a policy review of when it is appropriate to apply parking restrictions on public holidays, how these restrictions are applied and the clarity of public signage.
