Cabinet Member for Environment

Description

The Cabinet Member for Environment is responsible for leading on budget and policy formulation and implementation in relation to the environment and transport. In particular, their role requires them to promote the reputation of the London Borough of Barnet as a successful London suburb with an attractive environment and transport infrastructure designed to meet the needs of today and the challenges of the future.

The Cabinet Member for Environment also has responsibility for all matters relating to the development and management of the environment, including:

·         The street scene including pavements and all classes of roads

·         Parking provision

·         Refuse and recycling

·         Waste minimisation

·         Waterways

·         Parks and open spaces

·         Trees (includes public highways, Council housing estates and in parks)

·         Allotments

·         Transport and transport initiatives

·         Contract management

Also to be involved in and promote discussions in relation to any matters within the portfolio.
