Executive post

The Cabinet Member for Health leads on budget and policy formulation and implementation in relation to the emerging public health agenda. This includes working in partnership with local and national NHS providers.

The portfolio holder is also tasked with optimising all opportunities offered by the health authorities; shaping the community health and hospital services; to act as the champion on access to health facilities; to consider the implications for health facilities as the Borough develops.

The Cabinet Member for Health must also be involved in and promote discussions in relation to any matters within the portfolio.
