Executive post

The Leader of the Council has responsibility to lead on budget and policy formulation and implementation in relation to regeneration including economic and strategic development.   The Leader must also be involved in and promote discussions in relation to any matters within the portfolio.  

The Leader of the Council has leadership responsibilities, as well specific individual responsibilities.  These are:

·         Strategy

·         Communications

·         Strategic equalities and diversity

·         Responsibility for the oversight of the Council’s duties as an employer under Health and Safety related legislation

·         Mayoralty

·         Corporate Governance
