We the undersigned petition the council to Firstly, we would like to remind Barnet Council that, as local residents, we believe that its primary function and, by extension, the function of its subcontractors (and the reason why we fund it with our taxes) is to represent the wishes of the residents, to serve the residents and to protect the residents in our own neighbourhoods. We ask (and expect) our council to ensure that it acts accordingly in all matters relating to its residents. With this basic principle in mind, our petition below reflects that many of us residents are angry with the way we are being financially penalised by the Saracens Event Day parking restrictions. From our understanding, the purpose of these restrictions is NOT to penalise the residents for parking in their own streets but rather to protect the residents on Saracens event days by restricting non-residents from parking in our streets.
