CPZ (Restricting parking of Vans) in Stanhope Avenue

We the undersigned petition the council to Implement a CPZ in front of all residential frontages on Stanhope Avenue to the south of the junction/white gate at Mountfield Road. Some limited parking of vans and other commercial vehicles should be allowed for up to a reasonable number of hours per day where the relevant resident makes temporary permits available for the purpose, subject to: - anti-abuse rules (i.e. vans should only be present where necessary to provide services to the resident in question); - an absolute maximum number of such vehicles within a given length of the road (either side); and - rules against any overnight parking (assuming trade would not be continued overnight).

The aim of this petition is to minimise parking of vans (and other commercial vehicles, incl. private hire vehicles) outside residential buildings on Stanhope Avenue. The current situation with a large number of commercial vehicles permanently (or almost permanently) parked in the road, means residents do not have space to conveniently park their cars; and it is an eyesore.

For resident(s) who happen to own vans etc, there is ample parking near the junction with Mountfield Road for a reasonable number of vans, which does not face any residential frontages.

If the council has a better/fairer way to achieve the stated aim, we would be happy to discuss this.
