Installation of Mini Roundabout Grove Gardens junction with Colindeep Lane NW4 4SG

We the undersigned petition the council to Ricky Tang

am writing for your assistance in the hope that a mini roundabout can be installed at Colindeep Lane Junction with Grove Gardens, NW4 4SA.

Having lived in the area for 24 years, I noticed it has been very difficult emerging from Grove Gardens on to Colindeep Lane, especially when turning right. This is due to the following reasons:

1. The visibility to the right of Colindeep Lane from Grove Gardens has always been difficult due to the design of the road. Further more, bus No. 324 often stops on the corner of Grove Gardens, blocking the view.

To the left of Grove Gardens, there are over grown ivy plants, restricting the visibility of traffic approaching from Colindeep Lane (Southbound) , especially from the right lane on the flyover/dual carriageway, Colindeep Bridge.

A mini roundabout should facilitate access and reduce delay at side roads.

2. Traffic leaving the A41 Watford Way often come down the slope with high speed when leaving the dual carriageway, 40mph onto the slip road at Colindeep Lane. Many children also crosses that slip road to go to local schools as there.

A mini roundabout here could reduce traffic speeds and increase driver awareness.

3. The new North London Academy School, 110 Colindeep Lane, has increased southbound traffic and during the morning drop offs, the whole area approaching Grove Gardens can be gridlocked, meaning it's very difficult to emerge right from onto Colindeep Lane. This is exasperated by extra traffic from Colindale due to new housing developments.

A mini roundabout would reduce the dominance of
one traffic flow.

4. Since Grove Gardens is a very narrow road, vehicles unable to emerge onto Colindeep Lane due the above mentioned problems, can quickly block up the street. This also results in drivers unable to enter it, thereby affecting the traffic on Colindeep Lane.

A mini roundabout should facilitate access and reduce delay at side roads.
