The London Borough of Barnet's Elected Representation

Minutes:

The Governance Officer noted that the London Borough of Barnet at a meeting of Full Council on 15 July 2014 amended its representation from five Members to four Members which the Welsh Harps Joint Consultative Committee’s constitution required.

Appointment of Chairman and Vice-Chairman

That the Welsh Harp joint Consultative Committee appointed Councillor Sury Khatri as Chairman and Councillor Harbi Farah as Vice Chairman.

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Roxanne Mashari, Councillor George Kane, Mr Clive Cohen (London Wildlife Trust, Barnet Group), Mrs Murphy (Training Ship Broadside) Neil Hider (Environment Agency), Mr Geoffrey Johnson Woolmead Residents' Associationand Mrs Julie Johnson (Local Agenda 21).

Leslie Williams, the London Borough of Brent’s Council Strategy and Service Development Officer presented the London Borough of Brent’s Welsh Harp Management Plan. 

 

 

The Committee considered the officer’s report and appendix A of the report which outlined the Action Plan for 2014/15.

 

The Committee raised concerns relating to the impact of the Barratt Homes development and suggested that information be presents to Members of the Committee.

 

 

Resolved

 

·         That the Committee request that Barratt Homes be invited to the next meeting and update the Committee of the developments

·         That the Committee be provided with the planning conditions and informatives of the approved scheme and receive detail of the West Hendon regeneration development.

Minutes:

London Borough of Barnet - Welsh Harp Management Plan

 

The Chairman noted the circulation on the London Borough of Barnet’s Management Plan.  Tracey Sawyer, London Borough of Barnet’s Parks and Open Spaces Officer introduced the report and noted that officers were investigating measures to reduce the impact of rough sleepers with the location.

 

The Committee discussed the Brent Cross Cricklewood development and the impact this may have the Welsh Harp including the redirection of the Silkstream and impact to wildlife.

 

 

Resolved:

·         That the Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee note the contents of the report

·         That the Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee request information relating to procurement activity of the Brent Cross Cricklewood development

·         That the Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee invite an appropriate representative from  Brent Cross shopping centre to the next meeting to update the Committee

·         That the Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee request the appropriate officer to conduct a review of rough sleepers within the area including the impact this may have.
