London Borough of Brent Welsh Harp Management Plan pdf icon PDF 718 KB

Minutes:

Leslie Williams, Brent Councils Strategy and Service Development Officer, Sports and Parks Service, presented this report.  He informed the committee that the document was shorter than the previous versions.  He requested that organisations to provide their website addresses for inclusion in the contacts page in the Management Plan.

The committee considered the report and raised various issues including:

o       It is made clearer on the map where the boundary of the Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI) lies.

o       Reviewing the list of the sailing clubs as some appear to be out of date.

o       Making a request to Barnet and Brent Highways Section on the feasibility of a traffic analysis/signage for Wood Lane.

o       Welsh Harp Sailing Base – to include that plans for the new centre will be subject to a consultation process; this is to ensure that the views of local people are taken into account.

o       The London Wildlife Trust would want an in-put into the Management Plan and therefore a request that the Plan be sent to them.

RESOLVED –

(1)               That the report be noted.

(2)               That the revised Management Plan be recommended subject to the amendments agreed by the committee.
